Q:How often should I plan on replacing the carbon filter?
Asked by: Mark Quinn
- 1/14/2024
A: The frequency for replacing the activated carbon air filter in your air conditioning (AC) unit depends on several factors, including the type of filter, the quality of indoor air, the environment where you live, and how often the AC is used. Generally, carbon air filters should be replaced every 3 to 6 months. However, if you have pets, smoke indoors, or live in an area with high levels of pollution or pollen, you might need to replace the filter more frequently.

Q:To whom it may concern,
I would like to know if you accommodate bulk orders. If so, are there any price breaks given for bulk orders?
Thank you,

Q:So I am a new client. Do I purchase the custom frame, the filter, and the activated carbon filter? Or the frame and the activated carbon filter without an additional filter?
Asked by: Tim
- 3/17/2023
A: Carbon is just an addictional filter that is used to absorb odor not filter bacteria. We recommend you purchase the custom made aluminum frame and pick a filter material to catch the bacteria and then use the Carbon to absorb any type of orders issues you may have in your home. If you do not have an odor problem then you do not need to use this.

Q:What is the MERV rating on the activated carbon filters. I need both activated carbon filter and MERV filter combo with a rating of 8 or 11.
Asked by: Tim Stevenson
- 3/27/2023
A: Our Carbon/Zeolite filter is not rated for MERV as it is just an absorber not a bacteria filter. We offer it to be used with our filter system as an additional filter for VOC"s.

Q:Is this instead of filters I now use? Or is in in addition to my current filter? The refills I now use oil last for two months. How long can I go with this?
Asked by: Janet Bonham

A: Carbon is used with the filter material. Carbon is an absorber not a filter so you use the filter material as well as the Carbon.

Q:Hello. Im currently using biosponge plus filters and wanted to add a filter for odor. Is the carbon filter a replacement or would you use two filters together? If together, is it possible that this would reduce airflow over the evaporator? Thanks for any info
Asked by: August Myers
- 11/5/2024
A: The carbon is a separate filter that would be put into the frame before you replace the Biosponge Plus. Using this with Biosponge Plus could be resrictive on the air flow in older units. It works best with the regular Biosponge.

Q:This is my first time using the carbon filter and I need to change the AC filter, I am confused about placement in vent frame which goes first --- carbon filter or bio sponge filter ? I could not find any information on your website to explain this. Thank You
Q:How long do the carbon filters last? Should these be changed when replacing the regular filter? Or do they have a longer service life? Thanks!
Asked by: August Myers
- 4/4/2025
A: The carbon filters can typically last 3 months but it very much depends on the VOC's that it is being used for. If someone smokes in the home then it will not last more then 1 month but if it is just cooking type odors then it can last all 3. It very much depends on the usage.
